The Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, home of the Stanley Cup tossing Dallas Stars, the Telecom Corridor, the Dallas Cowboys, the Silicon Prairie, and the Texas Rangers has been selected by that secret fannish cabal, the Ditto Masters, to host the Millennial Ditto, Ditto #13, the weekend of September 22-24, Y2K

Ditto, often known as "that other fanzine fan’s convention," is our laid-back relaxcon targeted at fans of amateur publications dealing with life, the universe, and the literature of science fiction, fanasy, and speculative fiction. Programming is at a minimum, so participants can focus on discussion, making friends, eating and smoffing.

The Hosting Committee will be bringing together much of Texas’ fanzine fandom, past and present, with a global assortment of visitors with two things in common: an interest in fannish communication via the written word, and a desire to visit, mingle, and relax at some pleasant hotel in Dallas. Our professional meeting planner is in negotiations with several hotels near the Dallas Galleria for the best possible deal. An optional brunch Sunday morning is also planned.

The area of Dallas we have chosen has a great number of interesting restaurants – everything from steak places to 4-star nouveau cuisine to fast-food Tex-Mex. The Galleria is perhaps the most interesting shopping mall in Texas. We will be a short cab or shuttle ride from both DFW airport and Love Field, minutes from downtown Dallas, and not far at all from horse ranch country (in case you want to get in a short trail ride before dinner).
